2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge: Wrap Up!

The 2014 Review Pile Reading Challenge was hosted by Rachel @ Fiktshun & Reanna @ Phantasmic Reads.

The goal of this challenge was to read & review books in the past year that we've received for review.

I loved participating in this challenge, because it kept me keep up with my review pile. Not always, there were still some review books that I read, but didn't gotten around to reviewing them :( but it happens, especially with my often reading, blogging & reviewing slumps I had in 2014. But, still, when I was in the mood, I did great, so overall, it wasn't a bad year.

My goal was to read & review 11-20 books, but I ended up with 85. Yes, I totally rocked it. Around 70-80% from these books are full-length novels, the rest are a mix of shorter reads, like novellas, illustrated childrens books & graphic novels. This year I read a lot more books from my review pile than my tbr pile. So, this year, I'm planning to do the opposite.

September is for Sequels Challenge!

The September is for Sequels Challenge is hosted by Lisa @ Lisa Loves Literature.

The goal of this challenge is to read sequels.

I actually came across this challenge only yesterday, and even though I'm late, I knew I had to sign up.

I'm really behind on my series, especially when it comes to 2014 releases (and I shouldn't even start on those before 2014), anyway, I already planned to catch up on some of those 2014 releases, mainly so they don't pile up. I actually already read one sequel this weekend, so I hope it's fine that I'll count it toward this challenge.

For more detailed info about this challenge & to sign up, visit the post HERE.

My goal is to read 5 sequels.

I'll just list them as I read them, but some of the books I'd like to tackle are: Gena Showalter's Burning Dawn, Gail Carriger's Curtsies & Conspiracies, Marissa Meyer's Cress, Victoria Schwab's The Unbound or whatever I'm in a mood for ;) I also already tackled Amanda Carlson's Red Blooded.

My Reading List:

1. Red Blooded (Jessica McClain #4) by Amanda Carlson - my review
2. Burning Dawn (Angels of the Dark #3) by Gena Showalter - my review
3. Curtsies & Conspiracies (Finishing School #2) by Gail Carriger - my review
4. Cress (Lunar Chronicles #3) by Marissa Meyer - my review
5. The Never War (Pendragon #3) by D. J. MacHale - my review
6. Evernight (Darkest London #5) by Kristen Callihan - my review

Check-in #1:

(August 15th)

So far this month, I haven't been active as much as I wanted to, but at least I squeezed in some walking & exercising a few days, though only a little. Hopefully, the 2nd half of the month would be better.

- exercises: 1 h 10 min
- elliptical trainer: 25 km

Check-in #2:

(August 22nd)

Once again I didn't do as great as I wanted to, but I've been too busy, so I managed to get active only for a few days, and the following days will probably be like that, though I have hopes for the last days of the month to be more free to get active & do a lot more walking ;)

- walking: 10 km
- exercises: 1h 10 min
- elliptical trainer: 20 km

Final Update:

(August 31st)

- walking: 29 km

Wrap Up:

- walking: 47 km
- exercises: 2 k 20 min
- elliptical trainer: 45 km
