Once again, the event is over. :( This is the last day & today's theme is Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2015. I couldn't stop at 10, but I managed to stop at 13. And I couldn't choose which 3 to be honorable mentions, so yes Top 13. Cheating, but what can I do? ;) Of course there are a lot more than 13 that I'm looking forward to - sequels, debuts or new series & books by authors I've enjoyed before, but these 13 are at the top of my list of books that I'm dying to read! And yes, they're all sequels to some of my most fav series or new books by some of my most fav authors or spin-offs to some of my fav series!

Top 13 Books I'm Looking Forward to in 2015:

#1 - The Skull Throne (Demon Cycle, #4) by Peter V. Brett

Easily my most anticipated book of 2015! I love the series, it's one of my most fav adult epic fantasy series, and yes, the waiting has been long, but I don't mind, because I know it will be worth it! And that cover - so awesome! I love the covers of the series, too!

#2 - Half the World (Shattered Sea, #2) by Joe Abercrombie

I'm dying to return to this world, meet new characters, as well as see old favs! I can't wait to see where the story goes, but from the description, it sounds awesome! Half a King was one of the best books I read this year, and I'm ready for more :)

#3 - Nightborn (Thrones & Bones, #2) by Lou Anders

Frostborn was also one of the best books I read this year, so I'm dying to get my hands on a copy of Nightborn. And from the description, it sounds just as exciting as the first one, and I can't wait to return to the magnificent world the author created!

#4 - Prudence (The Custard Protocol, #1) by Gail Carriger

I can't believe that the waiting is almost over. This Parasol Protectorate spin-off features Prudence - the daughter of Alexia & Conall Maccon, and from the description it seems she is her mother's daughter ;) I can't wait to see in what kind of mischief & mayhem she will get into ;) And of course, I'm hoping to see old fav characters!

#5 - The Hollow Boy (Lockwood & Co., #3) by Jonathan Stroud

The Lockwood & Co. series is one of most favs at the moment. Both book #1 The Screaming Staircase & book #2 The Whispering Skull were among my best reads in 2013 & 2014, and I love the characters, so I can't wait for more!

#6 - Armada by Ernest Cline

I can't wait for Armada because it's by Ernest Cline. I absolutely adore Ready Player One, my #1 fav book ever, and I can never get enough of rereading it, so I'm interested in anything else the author writes.

#7 - Winter (The Lunar Chronicles, #4) by Marissa Meyer

I adore The Lunar Chronicles, and I'm dying to read Winter. First, because I'm really interested in Winter as a character, and second, it's the series finale, and I can't wait to see how it will end. I love the characters, so I'm really excited about this one. Sure, I'm really looking forward to Fairest, too, but not as much as Winter!

#8 - Pocket Apocalypse (InCryptid, #4) by Seanan McGuire

The InCryptid series is among my most fav urban fantasy series, and I love the world & all the characters, and this one is set in Australia, so I can't wait for it! I know it will be full of awesomeness!

#9 - The Visitor (Graveyard Queen, #4) by Amanda Stevens

The Graveyard Queen is a creeptastic series that's among my top favs, and I can't wait to read more. Two of the books made it on my list of best books in their years, and it seems, 2015 will finally be the year the 4th book will be published.

#10 - The Devil's Only Friend (John Cleaver, #4) by Dan Wells

When I read the John Cleaver trilogy (I Am Not A Serial Killer, Mr. Monster & I Don't Want to Kill You), I was completely amazed & fascinated by these books & the character John Cleaver, and I was left wishing that maybe the author will decide to write a spin-off, maybe with an adult John Cleaver. And yes, my wish has come true. There will be another John Cleaver trilogy, though it will be set only a year after the events in the 3rd book, starting with The Devil's Only Friend! So, yes, I'm really excited about this book!

#11 - Dark Alchemy by Laura Bickle

Laura Bickle is one of my fav authors, and I loved her 3 previous duologies, so I'll read anything she writes. And from the short description about Dark Alchemy - it sounds fascinating, and since I know what she can do, I can't wait to read it!

#12 - A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Ever since I read Victoria Schwab's debut The Near Witch in 2011, I knew she was something special! And since then, with every book by her that I read, I get more & more fascinated at her brilliant imagination & different stories, and her beautiful writing style, and A Darker Shade of Magic sounds absolutely brilliant, and I'm really looking forward to it!

#13 - untitled (The Shattered Realms, #1) by Cinda Williams Chima

No title yet, but Cinda Williams Chima's new series The Shattered Realms is a Seven Realms spin-off. (Another spin-off I could only wish & hope for...) I adore her Seven Realms series, it's one of my most fav YA epic fantasy series, and this one will be set 20 years later, and I'm really excited, no matter if it's set in some of the other realms, or if some of my fav characters will be back or not, I just want more from that magnificent world!

Today's theme is the one I always have trouble with, mainly because I rarely have a crush on book characters! So, as always, my list will be filled with guys I loved as characters, and that I loved them together as a couple a.k.a those that are one half of my fav couples this year. As always, this must be only from books both read in 2014 & released in 2014. This has been a great year for that, lots of amazing couples I totally adored, so it might just be over 10 this time ;)

Best Book Boyfriends of 2014:

~ Cole Holland from Gena Showalter's The Queen of Zombie Hearts

~ Kai, Wolf & Thorne from Marissa Meyer's Cress

~ Anthony Lockwood from Jonathan Stroud's The Whispering Skull

~ Bones from Jeaniene Frost's Up From the Grave

~ Thane from Gena Showalter's Burning Dawn

~ Torin from Gena Showalter's The Darkest Touch

~ Sam Brody from Jill Shalvis's It's in His Kiss

~ Angel Whittaker from Susan Mallery's When We Met

~ Levi from Elizabeth Eulberg's Better Off Friends

~ Josh from Stephanie Perkins' Isla and the Happily Ever After

~ Tristan from Danielle L. Jensen's Stolen Songbird

~ Matthew Clairmont from Deborah Harkness's The Book of Life

~ Giles Rutherford from Theresa Romain's Season for Desire

~ Chaz Browning from Leslie Kelly's Oh, Naughty Night!

Yes, I ended up with over 10 ;) I adore all of these characters. So amazing, for different reasons, and perfect for the ones they fall for :) I only feel weird about putting Anthony Lockwood, mostly because I feel like a perve lol But, he's so amazing, and ever since I met him in the 1st book, I love him as a character, and kept thinking, wow he'll be a heartbreaker when he grows up, and I would totally have a crush on him! ^_^ If I was in Lucy's place, I would totally jump him - ok, actually, I would only totally kiss him senseless, because they're still so young. But, I have hopes that as the series progresses & they get older, we'll get some romance, hopefully between Lucy & Anthony :) Then again, I'm really not in a hurry, I can wait for a long time, as long as there are many books in the series, because I don't want it to end.

Top 10 of 2014: Best Adult Books of 2014!

Today's theme is our own choice between: Villains, Contemporaries, Dual POV’s, Novellas, Adult, New Adult, Love Triangles, Couples, Bad Boys or Debuts. Every year, I choose a different theme, and this time I decided for Best Adult Books of 2014. Despite having The Book of Life (which was adult) on my list on Monday, the rest were all YA & MG, so I decided that I'll do a list of adult favs today, because there were lots of adult titles that I read in 2014, that I absolutely adored! And yes, they will be mostly romances!

Best Adult Books of 2014:

As I already said, Gena at her best is back, and 2014 seemed to be her year, and both of these books were absolutely amazing! Actually, all of her three 2014 releases were amazing!

With every Love Story book, the story & the characters became better & better, and Bite Me was the absolutely unexpected, hilarious & amazing finale to the trilogy! Attachments is another beautiful & lovely book by Rainbow Rowell.

The Lucky Harbor series is over :( but Jill Shalvis gave the series the finale it deserved. I adored the complete last trilogy, but It's in His Kiss is among my most fav, and One in a Million was the perfect finale to one of my fav series!

Season for Desire is a historical romance full of heart & soul, and reading it just made me happy & left me happy :) As for When We Met, definitely the best Fool's Gold romance. Overall, I have mixed feelings about the series, sometimes I really enjoy the books, sometimes not so much, but When We Met is the first that I absolutely fell in love with. It just worked for Angel & Taryn, it was the perfect story for them, and it was amazing!

Flirting with Forever is another funny contemporary romance that I absolutely adored. As for Oh, Naughty Night! naughty is the right word. Not usually the type of read that really works for me, but it was different than I expected, the chemistry between the MC's was perfect, and I loved their interactions & their story, it was lovely & charming, and quite perfect!

Honorable mention:

Honorable mention because it's a novella, but Aces Wild is absolutely amazing, and great beginning to a new series, and I can't wait to read more!

And what about you?
Leave me the link to your list today.

Top 10 of 2014: Best Books I've Read in 2014!

Top 10 of 2014 is a fun-filled yearly 5-day event we spend looking back at some of the best of all things books from 2014 and looking forward to those books in 2015 that we can’t wait for.

I had lots of fun participating in this event in the previous 3 years, so of course, I couldn't pass up joining in once again!

Today's theme is Best Books I've Read in 2014, and yes, once again, it will be so tough to choose them, because despite the many reading, reviewing & blogging slumps I had through the year, lots of the reads I read were all kinds of amazing!

Best Books I've Read in 2014:

THE TOP 3:
(because I would put all of these as #1 if I could a.k.a the books that absolutely & totally blew my mind this year)

~ Half a King by Joe Abercrombie

I haven't tried Joe Abercrombie's adult books yet (even though I've wanted to for years), but Half a King is the best type of epic fantasy, and how YA books should be in a perfect world. It didn't feel like YA, and I adored every second of it - from the characters, to the setting & the story - it was absolutely, mind-blowingly perfect, and one of the best fantasy books I've ever read!

~ Stiltskin by Andrew Buckley

To say that I was surprised by this book, it will be an understatement. Stiltskin is one brilliant mix of an intriguing world, a different twist on well-known fairy tale characters, humour, craziness, danger, action, evil, magic, twists & turns, heartbreak & one unforgettable story & characters!

~ Frostborn by Lou Anders

Frostborn is the first book in the Thrones & Bones series, and the fascinating debut novel of Lou Anders. Set in a magnificent viking-inspired world, filled with rich history & mythology, different countries, creatures & magic, featuring a half frost giantess as one of the MC's (brilliant character), Frostborn is one imaginative & addictive run-for-your-life adventure, that is full of awesomeness, danger, humour & fun, with amazing & magical world-building & writing style, so yes, one of the best fantasy adventures I've read!

#4 - The Whispering Skull by Jonathan Stroud

Last year, the first book in the Lockwood & Co. series The Screaming Staircase ended up on my Best of 2013 list, and now, the amazingly mysterious, eerie, humorous & entertaining sequel - The Whispering Skull - featuring the same, but now even more amazing main characters, set in the same interesting, dangerous & fascinating world, left me even more in love with this series, and it's one of the best reads in 2014 for me!

#5 - The Queen of Zombie Hearts by Gena Showalter

If you know me, you know that I love Gena Showalter's books. And The Queen of Zombie Hearts is Gena at her best. It seems that she's back, her latest books had been some of her best, and this one is among them, and I loved the finale of The White Rabbit Chronicles. Entertaining, charming, sizzling & heartbreaking, and perfect ending to this great series!

#6 - The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness

The Book of Life is the amazing & perfect finale to the All Souls trilogy. A beautiful mix of romance, history, love, family, magic, supernaturals, science & mystery - and perfect conclusion to all of these characters (main & secondary) that I adore. (I'm really hoping for a spin-off.)

#7 - Rose and the Magician's Mask by Holly Webb

One of the series I got hooked on this year is Holly Webb's Rose series. And the third book Rose and the Magician's Mask is one absolutely wonderful tale full of wonder & whimsy, magic & danger, humour, mystery & history, with lovable & quirky cast of characters, set in the reimagined mysterious & magical Venice.

#8 - Goliath by Scott Westerfeld

Goliath is another series-ending book, and just like with the previous books in the Leviathan trilogy, it's absolutely wonderful adventure, set in one unique, brilliant & imaginative steampunk world, that will make you laugh, and fill you with wonder, and make you fall in love with its world & characters all over again. So, yes, amazing finale & one of the best books that I've read this year. (Though, I like to look at the whole Leviathan trilogy as one story, to be honest.)

#9 - The Mute Button by Ellie Irving

The Mute Button is a wonderful, hilarious, heartbreaking, and unforgettable story about family, and about finding yourself & finding your place. It was definitely one of the most unexpected & surprising reads for me this year, and one of the best books I read in 2014.

#10 - Curtsies & Conspiracies by Gail Carriger

If you adored the Parasol Protectorate series, you'll adore this book. I mean, Etiquette & Espionage was great, but Curtsies & Conspiracies is absolutely perfect. That's all I'm going to say. Gail Carriger at her best! Unfortunately, I still haven't gotten around to read Waistcoats & Weaponry, but I really can't wait to read it!

Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for the Best Book Covers of 2014 list.
