Dewey's 24-Hour Read-a-Thon: Start + Challenges!

Once again, it's time for Dewey's 24-Hour Read-a-Thon.

And this time, it's the 10 anniversary one, and this will be the 16th time I'm participating.

So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my fav read-a-thon, and THANK YOU to DEWEY for starting this event, even though I never knew you, and THANK YOU to everyone else that keeps this event going!!!

As always, the read-a-thon for me starts at 2 pm on Saturday, and ends at 2 pm on Sunday.

As for reading, I have a pile of 15 books on my shelf I'll choose from, as well as my Kindle.

I'll just update this as I go...

 HAPPY READING EVERYONE!!!

Opening meme:

1) What fine part of the world are you reading from today?
- My home, in Macedonia.

2) Which book in your stack are you most looking forward to?
- Violet Eyes by Debbie Viguie.

3) Which snack are you most looking forward to?
- My munchmallows - already had 2 before it starts ;)

4) Tell us a little something about yourself!
- I'm a coffee addict that loves to read.

5) If you participated in the last read-a-thon, what’s one thing you’ll do different today? If this is your first read-a-thon, what are you most looking forward to?
- I participated in the last read-a-thon, but I won't do anything different, just read as much as I can, and do some of the challenges, and have fun.

10 Years in 10 Books Challenge:

2007 - The Name of the Wind (The Kingkiller Chronicle #1) by Patrick Rothfuss
2008 - The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman

2010 - Rot & Ruin (Benny Imura #1) by Jonathan Maberry
2011 - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
2012 - The Crimson Crown (Seven Realms #4) by Cinda Williams Chima

So, all of these are some of my most fav books. I haven't read only the 2015-2017 books yet, but they're part of book series that I love, just haven't gotten around to them yet, since I'm not reading as much as I used to and want to read in these last few years...

Sci-Fi Summer Read-a-Thon: Start + Wrap Up!

Sci-Fi Summer Read-a-Thon is hosted by Michelle a.k.a The True Book Addict at her read-a-thon dedicated blog Seasons of Reading!

The read-a-thon started today - Thursday, June 1st at midnight CDT and ends on Wednesday, June 7th at 11:59 pm CDT.

For me, that's 5 am on June 1st, and 4:59 am on June 8th.

For more info & to join the read-a-thon, visit the posts HERE & HERE

The read-a-thon hashtag is #SciFiSummerJune.

I missed last year's sci-fi read-a-thon (then again, I've missed lots of read-a-thons the last couple of years). Anyway, this time I'm in! I hope to read lots, but if I manage to read one book, I'll actually be happy. As to the reading list, I'll keep it simple. I'll try to read some of the sci-fi classics, maybe some H. G. Wells, and I really hope to re-read again Ready Player One, too.

Happy reading everyone!!!

 Wrap Up:

So, overall, it was a good read-a-thon, but I really wish I read more.

I finally read H.G. Wells's The Time Machine, and I absolutely loved it. I don't know why I always thought I won't like it, but I was wrong. And now I can't wait to read more of his works.

I also finished rereading Neil Gaiman's American Gods. It's a fantasy, but I had to finish it, and of course I loved it once again.

I did start another book - Storm Thief by Chris Wooding, but even though I loved what I read, I only managed to read a 3rd of the book before the read-a-thon ended, but it's one enjoyable mix of sci-fi & fantasy. So, yes, it was a good read-a-thon!

Bout of Books Read-a-Thon: Start + Wrap up!

It's been such a long time since I've participated in a Bout of Books Read-a-Thon, maybe even from the first few editions, and now it's actually #19, so wow. Anyway, I decided to join in.

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 8th and runs through Sunday, May 14th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 19 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

To join, visit the sign up post HERE.

As for me, no goals, but I'll try to read as much as I can, no reading list, but it'll be a mix of books I haven't read and re-reading old favorites, but I'll probably start with Maisey Yates's Down Home Cowboy.

Happy reading everyone!!!

Wrap Up:

I pretty much failed this read-a-thon. I only read one book, and only started another one. Didn't participate in any of the extra read-a-thon stuff, but overall, it wasn't a complete failure, because I did read the book that I listed above, and that's Down Home Cowboy by Maisey Yates. I just wish I continued reading after I finished it... Anyway, better luck reading next time ;)

Anything goes, and lots to pick from: on phone, on Kindle, on shelf, paperbacks, hardbacks, eARCs, mangas, graphic novels, other illustrated works... As for everything else, I'll try to do a little bit of everything, but mostly focus on reading, especially because that's something that I haven't been doing lately...

It's time for the 5th annual Take Control of Your TBR Pile Challenge, hosted by Kimba @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

I really, really haven't been reading, so my TBR pile just kept growing and growing, so yes, I'd love to read at least some of the books on my TBR pile, and maybe just start to read a lot, like I used to do.

My Goals:

- to read at least 5 full-length books from my TBR Pile
- to read a book from the pile of books translated to my language
- to read eARC
- to read ARC
- to read a paperback or hardback
- to read at least 1 hour a day, every day

So, that's about it! I know this will be fun! I'll try to participate in the Twitter Party on March 15th, and the 24-Hour Read-a-Thon on March 18th. And I'll update this post with my progress, and maybe tweet about it now then.

Good luck everyone & happy reading!!!
