Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Best to Worst Book to Movie Adaptations!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created & hosted @ The Broke and the Bookish.

Ok, so keep in mind that I'm including only books to movies that I've both read the books & watched the movie adaptations. Also, I decided not to include BBC mini series adaptations, because than I would've had to stop only on the best ;)

The Best:

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I enjoyed the book, but the movie itself was something else, just so amazing, and definitely much better than the book. Probably one of the best book to movie adaptations ever.

The Lords of the Ring trilogy

Ok, don't shoot me, but I seriously prefer the movies. They're perfect adaptations of the books, and they're amazing movies, and some of the best book to movie adaptations ever!

The Harry Potter series

Ok, so I'm absolutely big fan of the books & the movies. Sure, there were some tiny differences (some even I didn't like), but I tend to see the books & their movie adaptations as separate sides of the same coin, so I don't mind them, and the Harry Potter movies are great movies, and great adaptations of the books.

Stardust

I love this movie! I actually read the book first (before the movie was even made), and I totally fell in love with it (as well as with Neil Gaiman's writing), and I love the movie, too. I didn't mind the changes, because they totally worked in the movie.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe

From such a tiny book, they made this amazing movie, and the perfect adaptation of the book.

The Good:

Warm Bodies

I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. I loved the book, but I was skeptical if it can be translated in a movie, but in the end, it was lots of fun, and pretty good adaptation of the book. Yeah, the book is much better, but the movie was good!

Howl's Moving Castle

The Howl's Moving Castle movie is lovely, but at the same time although overall it's the same as the book, it's also quite different then the book, if that makes sense ;) I love the movie, but I adore the book even more, so the movie is a good one.

Coraline

The movie is pretty good adaptation of the book, although it has it's differences. I actually love both the book & the movie.

The Worst:

Eragon

Ok, so to be honest, Eragon isn't this amazing book that they ruined it, it was an ok book, and overall a nice read that I liked it, but they managed to make the movie even worse than the book. It wasn't good even as a movie, don't get me started on the adaptation.

Beautiful Creatures

Ok, first of all I have to mention that overall, I enjoyed the movie a lot. It was good & interesting, and despite all the differences with the book, it was still a good adaptation, at least it was until in the end I realised they've changed the ending. I mean WTF? Seriously??? The ending in the book was my fav part & why I actually loved the book so much, but no, they went and changed it. I don't mind changes through the story when it comes to translating the book to the screen, as long as the overall story & the ending are the same. It was a good movie, but not a good adaptation.

What about you?
