Top Ten Tuedsay: Top Ten Most Vivid Book Worlds/Settings!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists.
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

My Top Ten Most Vivid Book Worlds/Settings (in no particular order) are :

1. Any world Neil Gaiman has created:

...starting with the world of Neverwhere - a secret world under London and ending with the imaginative world in The Graveyard Book... Neil Gaiman has quite an imagination, and all of these books are set in such vivid worlds, so I couldn't choose only one, I had to put them all on my list :)

2. OASIS

OASIS is a virtual utopia & quite an amazing world! Can you imagine (going a little bit into spoilers now) being able to play through your fav movies - awesome!!! If you still haven't read this book, what are you waiting for? Read it now!!!

 3. Middle Earth

Do I have to say anything about this one? No! You know why Middle Earth is on my list :)

4. The Magical World of Harry Potter

Ok, no need to say anything about this one, too, but I love J.K. Rowling's magical world, such an imagination & another of my fav worlds!

  5. The Night Circus a.k.a Le Cirque des RĂªves

Such a magical place, I wish I can visit the circus in real life,  just SO MAGICAL!!!

6. The Demon Cycle World

In Peter V. Brett's world of the Demon Cycle series, every night demons come out at night - you've got fire demons, stone demons, wood demons, wind demons, etc. Amazing world (although I don't want to live in it) and one of my fav series :)

7. Everlost

I'm using the description of Everlost from the 1st book summary in the Skinjacker trilogy: Everlost  - "Everlost is a shadow of the living world, filled with all the things and places that no longer exist. It's a magical, yet dangerous place where bands of lost children run wild and anyone who stands in the same place too long sinks to the center of the Earth.". Neal Shusterman is one of my fav authors, and the world he has created in this trilogy is so imaginative, and brilliant & amazing!

8. Cinda Williams Chima's Seven Realms

In the Seven Realms series there are of course Seven Realms ;) I can't wait to see how everything will end in the last book The Crimson Crown.

9. The Land of Ingary

I still haven't read the other 2 books in the Howl's Castle series, but I loved Howl's Moving Castle & the magical world Diana Wynne Jones had created!

10. The Soul Screamers World

I love the world in the Soul Screamers (including the Netherworld) Rachel Vincent has created, and all those supernatural creatures - you've got bean sidhes (banshees), reapers, hellions, etc. So many types of different beings, and yeah, I love the world :)

    1. I had to put Neil Gaiman's books, he's my #1 fav author :) And yeah, I know I must read Zafon's CoFB, but I keep postponing them. Have you read the 3rd one, and is it just as good?

    2. I've already answer on my blog, but never mind I'll just copy it here.

You mean Marina? Yes I have and it's great, even though my fave is The Shadow of the Wind. Did you know that there is fourth? Called The Prisoner of Heaven. I must wait for it in library and it's killing me!!

PS. I'm not big fan of Gaiman's books. Dunno but only that I love is Stardust. I hope that one day I'll enjoy his writing style.

    3. I didn't know that Marina is connected with the CoFB, I thought it was stand alone, now I'll have to get it :) I meant The Prisoner of Heaven, I thought that one is the 3rd one? So, you haven't read it, ok :) I hope it will be available soon in the library for you :)

Oh, that's too bad :( I actually love his writing style, it's so unique & I I've read & love all of his novels & I can read them all again & again :) The 1st one I've read from him years ago is Stardust & I've read it the most times, so if I have to choose Stardust is my most fav because it's the one with which I discovered him as an author, but all of his books are quite different, and yeah, I love them :)

    4. It' not, but it's still placed in Barcelona and it's still great. But no matter what first one that you read will probably be your fave! I love The Shadow of the Wind. I hope! :)

Yes it's unique, but I can't find myself in it. :) Yeah Stardust was nice, I've read it because of movie. Later I read American Gods, and I didn't like it so much :/

    5. Ok, thanks Tanja :) I'll start (when I do) with The Shadow of the Wind, since I already own it :) then The Angel's Game. After that I'll have to get The Prisoner of Heaven & Marina, and even his YA trilogy Niebla, although I've heard it's not as good as CoFB.

As for Gaiman, I highly recommend to you The Graveyard Book, I think you will like that one. I read Stardust before the movie :) of course in English (I'm afraid to read a translated Gaiman book) & I actually read American Gods only last week (after postponing reading it for years, like The Shadow of the Wind), and yeah I loved it, but I already knew what to expect, especially because I had already read Anansi Boys, which I actually prefer, because it's more fun & funny :) I also re-read it last week, and loved it once more :) Next on my Gaiman list - to re-read The Graveyard Book, although I might postpone that until autumn for the horror read-a-thon :)

Ok, I'll stop now, sorry, I tend to forget myself sometimes ^_^

  5. Ohhhh! I LOVE those covers of Harry Potter!

AND OMG YES THE OASIS. I want to kick myself a little every time I visit a TTT and I see it, because I totally forgot to put it on my list.

Also, in looking at your TTT, I have to say our taste in books is scarily similar so in my brain I am listing all the books listed here that I have not read on here, because I am almost positive I would love them.

    1. Yeah, they look amazing, the new editions of Bloomsbury, and the package of the hardback edition, it's amazing, so I dream about it ^_^

I hope you will love them, which ever you try :) All of these are books I've loved & one of my favs :) I highly recommend the Demon Cycle series by Peter V. Brett (if you haven't read it) for a start :)

  6. Neil Gaiman is a great one. I didn't think about him as an option either. I don't think you could not have Harry Potter on the list! It makes me want to reread them.
