My Thoughts on the Book:

This is the 2nd book by Nicole Jordan I've read, as well as the 2nd book in her Legendary Lovers series. The first book by her that I've read was actually the 1st book in the series Princess Charming, and to be honest I don't really remember it (except for the premise of the series), all I remember was that it was only an average read for me, and overall I liked it, but I still decided to give Nicole Jordan & the series a second shot, and I'm glad that I did.

Lover Be Mine is quite an enjoyable & fun historical romance & I liked it a lot. It was definitely a lot better than its predecessor, and it definitely made me eager to pick up the rest of the series when they'll be published.

In this book we meet Lord Jack Wilde, who finally succumbs to his sister Katherine & his cousin Skye persistence that they've found his Juliet - Miss Sophie Fortin - according to Kate's theory about them all imitating legendary lovers through out history, so they can find true love, and his story is apparently to be Romeo & Juliet. Jack doesn't believe them, and after deciding to indulge them & meet Sophie, he's instantly attracted to her, and after their first conversation he realizes that there's more to her than it seems at first sight, and after he steals a kiss, he starts pursuing her to see where that attraction between them can go & to see if maybe Kate & Skye are right about him & Sophie.

Sophie is almost engaged to an older Duke. The wish of her parents is to marry her well, and their choice is the Duke of Dunmore, and although he's nice & kind older gentleman, Sophie doesn't love him, but she has decided to honor her father's wishes & marry him.

But then, Jack comes into the picture. He crushes her aunt's ball, he's charming & fun, and after they get to know each other a bit & he explains about the theory & he steals a kiss, Sophie is definitely attracted to him. But, he can't court her in public, her father wouldn't allow it because he hates the Wildes because of the blood feud between their families.

So, what's a guy to do? Try to court Sophie in secret. He asks for help from Sophie's aunt Mrs. Pennant, as well as his family, and starts to pursue her.

I really enjoyed the romance between them. It was sweet & cute, and I really liked them both as characters. I especially loved that it was obvious that the main character is Jack, and that after he decides to pursue Sophie, he isn't planning only to seduce her, but he wants to get to know her more & he's definitely not reluctant about marrying her. So we get to see how & why they fall in love with each other, and how they try to overcome their obstacles, and how far Jack is ready to go to save Sophie from an unwanted marriage & have her for himself.

The story about Jack's past was so sad & heartbreaking, but overall I really liked it. I loved meeting his father, as well as all of his cousins, they were hilarious & nice addition to the story, as well as Mrs. Pennant. Actually, his cousins are the reason why I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series. I know they will be fun & I can't wait to see what their legends will be.

If you love reading fun, sweet & cute historical romances, with great characters & good story, then I recommend this book a lot!
