Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge 2016!

The Flights of Fantasy Reading Challenge is hosted by Alexa @ Alexa Loves Books & Rachel @ Hello, Chelly!

The goal is to read fantasy books in 2016.

On Twitter, use #flightsoffantasy.

For more detailed info, and to sign up, visit the posts HERE or HERE!

My goal is to read 25 fantasy books.

I'm not posting a list, I'll just read whatever I'm in the mood for, though probably they will be a mix of first-reads & re-reads, and probably from all the types of fantasy (since I love it all). ;) I'll just list them as I read them.

My Reading List:

1.

2016 Series Enders Reading Challenge!

The 2016 Series Enders Reading Challenge is hosted by Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know & Holly @ Words Fueled by Love.

The goal of this challenge is to read & review last books in series.

This challenge will run from January 1, 2016 until December 31, 2016.

There will be 4 levels:

Level 1: 1 – 5
Level 2: 5 – 10
Level 3: 10 – 15
Level 4: 15+

For more detailed info about this challenge & to sign up, visit the posts HERE or HERE.

Last year I failed at this challenge. I read only one final book, and even that one I never reviewed, so, yes, major fail. Hopefully, this year I'll do better. ;)

And so, I decided for Level 1: to read & review 5 series enders.

If I read 5, I'll be happy, especially because I'm not reading as much as I used to read over a year ago. Anyway, I'll list the books as I read & review them.

My Reading List:

Chapter Break Bookish Bingo: January!

This monthly Bookish Bingo is hosted by Julie & Lynn @ Chapter Break!

Rules:
  • You may use the same book to fill multiple squares
  • You must have read (finished) the book in that month to count for that particular month’s card

I really like that every month there'll be a new card, and that the important thing is the number of squares, not getting a bingo (which had been hard for me to do in a few other bingo challenges I've participated in), as well as one book can fill multiple squares, which is perfect because it's a shorter bingo.

For more info about this challenge & to join, go HERE or to the January bingo post HERE!

I'll update the bingo card with my progress & list the books & categories below as I finish books.

Number of squares filled: 7

Squares + Books:

Cowboy - Take Me, Cowboy by Maisey Yates

Set on a ranch - Take Me, Cowboy by Maisey Yates

Friends to Lovers - Take Me, Cowboy by Maisey Yates

Popular Tourist Location - Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis

Free Space - Nobody But You by Jill Shalvis

Set in a city - The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie

Dead Body - The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie

I filled only 7 squares, but I'm happy because I read only 5 books in January!

2016 Winning at Reading Challenge!

Winning at Reading is a month-long reading challenge hosted by Bea's Book Nook.

The goal of this challenge is to read books we've won or received as gifts, but haven't read yet. Any length, format & genre count.

The Twitter hashtag is #winningatreading.

I have quite a few won books that I haven't read yet, especially ebooks, so this is the perfect challenge to hopefully read a few of them.

My goal is to read 3 won books, from which at least one will be physical book & one ebook.

I'll list the books as I read them once the challenge starts & I've read them ;)

A Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon: Start & Update + Wrap Up!

A Winter's Respite Read-a-Thon is hosted by Michelle a.k.a The True Book Addict at her read-a-thon dedicated blog Seasons of Reading!

The read-a-thon started on Monday, January 18th at midnight CST and ends on Sunday, January 24th at 11:59 pm CST.

For more info & to join the read-a-thon, visit the posts HERE & HERE

On Twitter use the hashtag #WintersRespite.

Start & Update:

Obviously, I'm late again with the post & signing up, but I have been reading. Also, I just realised that I haven't done this particular read-a-thon since 2013, despite the fact that I almost never miss Michelle's other read-a-thons.

Anyway, I read The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie. This was actually a re-read for me (read it years ago, but in another language, Serbian or Croatian, and it was a borrowed book from an uncle, now I snatched up the free English edition on Gutenberg), but once again I thoroughly loved it. There's just something about this book & its characters that I still find quite adorable & charming & so much fun. Also, I started this book a couple of days before the start of the read-a-thon, but most of it I finished since the read-a-thon begun. And yes, I would read this again!

No idea what I'll read next, maybe from the pile of NetGalley books I have that are yet to be published, but I plan to continue reading.

 Wrap Up:

I didn't do as good as I hoped, I just didn't read as much as I wanted to. Anyway, as I wrote above, I finished Agatha Christie's The Secret Adversary. I also read The Snow Queen by Hans Christian Andersen (I actually thought that I read it for the first time, but just noticed that I've actually read it before, just forgot it, so this was a re-read, though now I read it from the copy I snatched up from NetGalley for the new upcoming edition). I also started a couple of other books, though I didn't finish them: The Laughing Prince: Jugoslav Folk & Fairy Tales by Parker Fillmore & Cogling by Jordan Elizabeth. I was in a fairy tale / fantasy mood. Overall, I did okay!
