Monster War
(Book 3 in the Nightmare Academy)
by
Dean Lorey

Publication date:
July 27, 2010

I love the series! They're just so much fun & I can't wait to read this one!
The summary below contains small spoilers if you haven't read the first 2 books in the series!

Monsters. Once upon a time they turned up every now and then, triggered by a gifted child's nightmares. But now they're here. ALL OF THEM. And this time, it's war! The Fifth has made it to earth, but it's not as bad as everyone expected. It's worse. As CNN broadcasts 24-hour carnage and colossal monsters destroy the world's cities, the fate of the world and all its people rests on one person's shoulders. One quite SMALL person's shoulders. But the Fifth is Mother to all monsters -- and now she's got Pinch on her side, one of the strongest double threats who ever lived. Charlie and his friends have the fight of a lifetime on their hands...

Beautiful Darkness
(Book 2 of the Caster Chronicles)
by
Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl

Publication date:
October 12, 2010

I loved Beautiful Creatures! One of my favorite reads this year & I can't wait to read this one!

Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.

Sometimes life-ending.

Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.

Unraveled
(Book 2 in the Intertwined series)
by
Gena Showalter

Publication date:
 August 31, 2010

I enjoyed a lot Intertwined, the 1st book in the series, so I'll definitely read this one, too!
Spoilers in the summary below, so if you haven't read Intertwined, don't read the summary!

For once, sixteen-year-old Aden Stone has everything he’s ever wanted:
A home.
Friends.
The girl of his dreams.
Too bad he’s going to die…

Since coming to Crossroads, Oklahoma, former outcast Aden Stone has been living the good life.  Never mind that one of his best friends is a werewolf, his girlfriend is a vampire princess who hungers for his blood, and he’s supposed to be crowned Vampire King – while still a human!  Well, kind of.

With four – oops, three now -- human souls living inside his head, Aden has always been “different” himself.  These souls can time travel, raise the dead, possess another’s mind, and, his least favorite these days, tell the future.

The forecast for Aden?  A knife through the heart.

Because a war is brewing between the creatures of the dark, and Aden is somehow at the center of it all.  But he isn’t about to lie down and accept his destiny without a fight.  Not when his new friends have his back, not when Victoria has risked her own future to be with him, and not when he has a reason to live for the first time in his life…

 Fatally Frosted
(Book 2 in the Donut Shop Mystery series)
by
Jessica Beck

I enjoyed a lot Glazed Murder, the 1st book in the series, so I'll read this one, too!
And the cover is just so yummy!!!

A local busy body has dropped dead after eating one of Suzanne's famous treats. A forensic team is soon swarming through the Donut Hearts kitchen, dusting for clues, sifting through sugar, and suspecting the worst of Suzanne. But with the help of police inspector Jake Bishop and her ex-husband Max, Suzanne hopes to clear her good name--before another bad donut is fatally frosted...
