"Stories are like spiders, with all they long legs, and stories are like spiderwebs, which man gets himself all tangled up in but which look so pretty when you see them under a leaf in the morning dew, and in the elegant way that they connect to one another, each to each."
from Neil Gaiman's Anansi Boys
I can tell you I have read 4 out of 5 of those books and they are great! You need to get started!!!
ReplyDeleteAngie
Yeah, I know, and these are not the only books I already have, and need to read, but keep postponing :) Hopefully, I'll get to them soon :)
DeleteOh man. Only 5? I'd have to write at least 20 books on this list!
ReplyDeleteGirl, you need to read BLOOD RED ROAD. I have INSURGENT on this list as well. I started it but couldn't get past chapter two. Crikies.
I have a lot more, but these 5 were the first that came to mind :) And I haven't started any of these, hopefully soon :)
DeleteThis often happens to me when I rush out to buy a book that I'm really excited about but then I keep putting off reading it for fear that it will disappoint me. I do remember enjoying Insergent, though I can't remember the details. The Shadow of the Wind is also really good.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes do that, postpone a book because of that kind of fear (I especially did that with Neil Gaiman's American Gods for years, but finally I read it a while ago), but with these, it's just that I never seem to be in a mood for them, that's why...
DeleteI just knew that Zaofn would be on this list! But two books :(( You should really read Shadow of the Wind. PS. I'm not the one who should judge, I have plenty of unread books on my shelf...:S
ReplyDeleteHahaha, you so know me ;)
DeleteYeah, I know, and it's almost 3 years since I bought them both, and although I said I'll finally read them this year, I think I'll postpone reading them until winter, when I'll get my copy of The Prisoner of Heaven (it will be on discount then lol), and then read the whole trilogy, until then I have books 2 & 3 of the Mist trilogy to read, which I plan to get through in October ;)
And, yeah, I have a lot more then these 5 that sit there unread :(
Don't make me track you down! You cannot leave my Zafon to dust on the shelf! I'll seriously pay you a visit! :P :D Kidding but good thing is once you start reading them you won't stop! ;)
DeleteHahahaha, I guess you can :D we're close :D
