#168 - "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte

Summary:
Jane Eyre is a first-person narrative of the title character, a small, plain-faced, intelligent and honest English orphan. The novel goes through distinct stages in Jane's life: Jane's childhood at Gateshead, where she is abused by her aunt and cousins; her education at Lowood School, where she acquires friends and role models but also suffers privations; her time as the governess of Thornfield Manor, where she falls in love with her Byronic employer, Edward Rochester; her time with the Rivers family at Marsh End.
This novel is the love story of Jane Eyre, a plain yet spirited governess, and her arrogant, brooding Mr. Rochester.

My rating: 5/5

My thoughts on the book:
I finally read Jane Eyre! It's just one of those classics that I never got around to read... Now, that I finally did, I loved it! I was surprised that it was actually really fast read! I don't know what I was waiting for until now! If you still haven't read it, I recommend it!

  1. I love this book too but it's been some year since I last read it. Maybe it's time to re-read the book.
