Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Favorite Books I've Read During the Lifespan of My Blog!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists.
Each week we will post a new Top Ten list that one of our bloggers here at The Broke and the Bookish will answer. Everyone is welcome to join. All we ask is that you link back to The Broke and the Bookish on your own Top Ten Tuesday post AND add your name to the Linky widget so that everyone can check out other bloggers lists! If you don't have a blog, just post your answers as a comment. Have fun with it! It's a fun way to get to know your fellow bloggers.

Ok, so this one will be a tough one. Why? Well, I've been blogging for over 2 years & 8 months now, and for that period I've read lots of amazing books & series that are now one of my favorites (thankfully a good part of my alltime favorite books I've read before blogging, so it was a touch easier to narrow it down), but still tough & I'm sorry about some of the books and most of my favorite series that won't be included, but I have to stick to 10! And how did I choose those 10? Well, they're all fav books that have absolutely blew me away with their uniqueness in some way & I still think about them (even after a couple of years since I've read them), and I can read them again & again, and love them more every time, and they're on my list of best books I've ever read :) So, although I can't list all the books I'd like to, here's my top 10.

So, My Top Ten Favorite Books I've read During the Lifespan of My Blog are :

1. Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Why? Because it's absolutely amazing. Although Ready Player One was published only a year ago, I've already read it twice (I don't read the same book twice in a year, that's just my thing). The first time was last year from a galley through NetGalley, and the second time was only a couple of months ago, after I bought myself the copy above. I already thought it was amazing, and I didn't think I can love it more, but I was wrong. I'm actually itching to read it again, but so far I'm resisting, because of that "rule" I have about not reading the same book twice in a year ;) Anyway, if you haven't read it, I highly recommend it.

2. Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

There's a reason why Ender's Game is a sci-fi classic! I have to admit that I had been postponing reading it for years because of that single fact. Sometimes I feel intimidated by some books, so I postpone reading them. I guess I'm a little afraid they will disappoint me. But, when I finally started reading Ender's Game, I went with no expectations & it totally blew me away, so now I know why Ender's Game is a sci-fi classic, I just wish I've read it much sooner! Definitely one of the best books & favorites!

 3. Unwind by Neal Shusterman

Wow, it's been over 2 years since I read Unwind, and I still remember it in details, and after reading it only once, that's quite amazing. It's just that Unwind is one of those books that will blow you away, that you can't forget, that stay with you long after you've read them, and you'll think about some of its scenes again & again. Unwind was one of the first dystopian books I've read, and since then I've read a lot, but this one is definitely one of the best, and I highly recommend it. I've wanted to re-read it for a long time now, but after I found out last year about the sequel that will be published this year (at the time it was stand-alone, the author decided to write the sequels later) I decided to wait for it, so after I'll get UnWholly, I'll definitely read it again before reading UnWholly, and I can't wait. I think that Neal Shusterman is really brilliant author, and I also highly recommend his Skinjacker trilogy - so amazing, yet so different from Unwind, and it's also one of my favorites.

4. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

The Book Thief is just so, so amazing & brilliant & heartbreaking, I've never cried so much before while reading a book, yeah, I admit, I had to stop reading to calm myself, and it's also so unique & yeah, one of the best books out there, and I think that Markus Zusak is such a brilliant author, The Book Thief is a must-read for everyone!!!

  5. Rot & Ruin by Jonathan Maberry

Another amazing book that totally surprised me with its awesomeness. I highly recommend this book, even if you're not a fan of zombie books, this one is different & amazing, and one of those books that stays with you long after you've finished it. The sequel Dust & Decay is so good too, and I can't wait to see what will happen in the next book.

6. I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak

Yeah, another Markus Zusak novel in my top 10. I actually read I Am the Messenger only a couple of months ago, and I still haven't reviewed it, I actually don't think that I can review it. The moment I finished it, I wanted to re-read it right away, and I never read the same book twice in a year, and although so far I've managed to resist doing that, I think this one might be the book I'll break my "rule" for ;) So, I'll say this, I Am the Messenger is such an amazing YA contemporary, like no other, and Markus Zusak is so brilliant, I need to read more from him, and I highly recommend this book!

7. The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Why? Because The Night Circus is just so amazing & magical & unique place, that I'd love to be part of or a place I'd love to visit & I think the only bookish place I've wished over & over again to exist for real. And this book was such a magical & unique journey, so it has to be a part of this list.

8. The Light by D. J.MacHale

I love this book so much. I've already read it twice, once in 2010 & once in 2011 & I loved it just as much as the first time when I read it. The Light is the first book in the Morpheus Road trilogy, and definitely one of my all time favorite books. I'm actually planning (and already looking forward to) re-reading both The Light & its sequel The Black before reading the last book in the trilogy The Blood. I think I'll do that probably in October ;) Anyway, The Light is a really suspenseful & supernatural mystery that will keep you on the edge of your sit, with realistic characters & lots of twists & turns, and I highly recommend it.

9. Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

I love this book so much, it was so sweet & fun & romantic, with great characters & great writing style, and definitely one of my favorites that I'll read again & again, and I highly recommend it!

10. Leviathan Wakes by James S. A. Corey

This book was such a surprise. I heard it was great, but I didn't read the details (I don't like spoilers), and I got approved a galley through NetGalley last year & it was definitely one of the best books I've read in 2011, and one of my favorites.  I have quite an eclectic taste in books, I read almost every genre, and this book was a perfect combination of lots of different genres. It had adventure, mystery, virus, zombies, spaceships, romance, war, everything, it was quite a sci-fi adventure that will keep you on the edge of your sit, and when it's finished, you'll be satisfied with the ending, yet you'll be eager for more. There is actually a sequel, but I still haven't bought it & read it, the same goes for this one, still haven't bought it, but I'm planning to, 'cause Leviathan Wakes is definitely a book I'll read again & again, and I highly recommend it.

So, that's my list of top ten favorite books I've read since the start of my blog.

But, on a side note, I didn't include books from my #1 favorite author - Neil Gaiman. Why? Because I couldn't decide which one to put on the list. Stardust was out of the "race" because I read it long before I started blogging, and I've read all of his full-length novels now, and although all of them are my favs, my most favorites of his novels are The Graveyard Book & Anansi Boys, so I highly recommend them.

  4. To think I was just about to return Leviathan Wakes to the library unread - not now! And I loved Ready Player One and The Night Circus. The Gaiman books are on my reading list and I hope to get to them soon.

And all of Gaiman's books are so amazing, you have to read them all! After finally reading American Gods a while ago, I can proudly say I've read all of his novels :) Now I should get some of his short story collections & maybe graphic novels ;)
