Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon: Start + Goals + Reading List + Mini Challenges + Update + Wrap Up!

So, it's time for the Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon!

This is my 3rd time participating in this particular read-a-thon (though I don't know which time when it comes to all the WWReadathons).
The Wicked Wildfire Read-a-Thon is hosted by April & Kat @ My Shelf Confessions!

The read-a-thon started today @ 12:01 AM EST (06:01 AM for me) & will end on June 24 @ 11:59 PM EST (for me @ 05:59 AM on June 25).

   For more info & to sign up, visit the post HERE!

The sign up will be open until midnight EST on July 22nd.

On Twitter as always we'll use #WWReadathon.

And of course there will be 2 Twitter Parties:
- Twitter Party 1: Saturday, July 19th: 2:30 – 4:00 pm EST (8:30 to 10 pm for me)
- Twitter Party 2: Tuesday 22nd: 6:30 - 8 pm EST (00:30 - 2 am for me)

And of course there will be mini challenges!

What I'll be reading?

I'll choose my reads according to my mood, but first I'm planning to finish (and probably will today):

...as for what I'll be reading after: some of my possible NetGalley reads are:

... though I will probably stray from this list (as always).

My Goals:

- to read;
- to participate in a Twitter Party;
- to participate in min 2 challenges;
- to have lots of fun.

I'll just update this post with my progress!

Mini Challenges:

~ Guess the Title Picture Challenge

That's my picture puzzle. What's the book title?

Update #1:

I just realised I forgot to update this post with my reading progress. So far, I participated in 4 of the 5 mini challenges, joined near the end of the first Twitter Party, finished the previously started Half a King, and read He's So Fine, the novella Loving Mindy by Karen Erickson & The One Safe Place by Tania Unsworth. I also started 3 other books, from which I'm hoping to finish Cat Clarke's Undone first. Even though I totally strayed from my reading list (as always), at least I'm making a dent in my NetGalley pile. I'm also planning to join the 2nd Twitter Party today.

Wrap Up:

Ok, so, I didn't do as great as I hoped, but near the end of the read-a-thon I got into a reading slump & a blogging slump, so I kinda gave up on reading & the read-a-thon itself. But, before this happened, I finished the previously started book Half a King, and read 2 more novels & one novella:

I also started a few others, and I participated in the 4 of the mini challenges, and joined the 2 Twitter Parties.

  1. Hope you like the Joe Abercrombie book! I've only read one of his adult books, and really enjoyed it. His writing tends to be rather dark, in a good way. I heard great things about The Kiss of Deception.

    Good luck during the readathon, and happy reading! :D

    1. Thanks, Celine!

      Just finished Half A King, and it was brilliant, definitely dark, but so awesome! I really need to start (finally) his First Law trilogy.

  2. good luck with your goals! so glad you could join us! you have several books on you to-be-read list that look REALLY intriguing and I might have to check out further.. hmm esp Lockwood & Co - interesting title and really cool cover!

    That Rose book (can't read the rest of the title) that series looks curious to me and has for awhile. I'm wondering if I'll like it since middle grade is touch and go for me (and judging by the cover it seems middle grade-ish?) I have one of the books on my wish list because I want to try it out at some point though because the premise seems cool!

    The Time of the Fireflies, trying to think if I've seen that around before or not.. I LOVE fireflies so much, I LOVE that cover and the title and now I'm super curious what the premise of the book is!

    I hope you love all the books you end up diving into this week :D and hope you have fun with all the challenges and twitter! :D

    1. Oh, yes, I highly recommend The Screaming Staircase - the 1st Lockwood & Co. book. It's MG, but so brilliant, and it was one of the best books I read last year, as well as one of the best MG books that I've read ever, so I have high expectations for The Whispering Skull!

      The Rose series is fun, cute, whimsical & magical, and I adore it. This is the 3rd book, and I'm really looking forward to reading it! And yes, it's MG, too.

      And thanks, April! I hope so, too :) Thanks for stopping by!
