"Where She Went" by Gayle Forman

Title: Where She Went

Author: Gayle Forman

Series: If I Stay, #2

My rating: 5 of 5

(Book read on April 5th, 2014.)

Summary:

It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.

Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.

Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay, Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.

My Thoughts on the Book:

I finally read If I Stay only last September, and I loved it, so of course I had to get the sequel, too. What I found quite interesting is that both If I Stay & Where She Went I read in a day (ok, less than a day). It's just, when I started them, I couldn't stop until I finished them, so yeah, Gayle Forman is that good, and even though the theme in both book is on the heartbreaking side, you will be compelled to keep reading, and before you know it, it will be over.

This time, the story is narrated by Adam. I actually quite enjoyed reading his PoV, and seeing how the events & their aftermath influenced on his life, though I'll admit, I pretty much bawled my eyes for over half of this book. Yeah, it was a total cry-fest!

Once again, we follow the characters in the past & the present, and it was done quite wonderful, and it flowed quite perfectly, and we got to know Adam quite a lot as a character, the one he was, and the one he is, as well as the one he wants to be.

I don't want to go into details, but Where She Went is one amazing emotion-filled contemporary book, that will break your heart, yet fill you with hope, and one of those books that will stay with you long after you've finished them, and I highly recommend it! Also, it's a wonderful finale to Mia & Adam's story, characters that I absolutely adore!
