It's Monday! What Are You Reading? #111

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is being hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

This is a great weekly event where everyone can keep track of the books finished last week & the books planning to read this week!

What did I read last week?

If you've stopped by last week, you might have noticed that I started feeling that I might be over YA :( but now I can honestly say that YAY I was wrong. I've forgotten that I used to be really picky when it comes to choosing what to read, especially when it comes to YA, but I got reminded of that last week, so yay for me & for remembering something I've forgotten ;)

Anyway, now, back to this meme, last week I finished the two previously started books: Embers by Laura Bickle & Black City by Elizabeth Richards. I also read Inside Out by Maria V. Snyder. Black City was an ok read, overall I liked it, Inside Out was great, and Embers was pretty good, too. Actually, I loved it a little bit more now then the first time :)

What else I've been reading last week?

Yeah, I've been all over the place last week ;) I started Sparks by Laura Bickle (the sequel to Embers), and I also started re-reading Firespell by Chloe Neill & I also started The Storm by Alexander Gordon Smith (the sequel to The Fury). I didn't read much from both Sparks & The Storm, but so far I'm loving them, and I'm enjoying a lot Firespell, it's a fast read, and I have only 66 more pages to go. I won't have a lot of time for reading this week, but I will probably finish Firespell, and I'm planning to continue reading both Sparks & The Storm.

What I'll be reading next?

As I said, I won't have a lot of time for reading this week, but these are some of my possible reads. I decided to finally finish the Dark Elite trilogy, that's why I'm re-reading Firespell, so of course next is the 2nd book Hexbound, and of course I'm looking forward to reading Outside In (this is the omnibus edition of the duology, and I read only Inside Out last week). Also, I should read Eleanor & Park for a read-along this month, so another of my possible reads ;)

So, what are you reading this week?

  4. Oooh very nice! Not sure if I have said it enough on my blog, but I looooove Maria Snyder! Her books are awesome and I have even met her because I loved her books so much and had to go tracking her down to another city!! Her YA series was fun for me, it was different from my norm but still amazing! If you haven't read her adult books, I highly recommend them. They are more fantasy based and have magical aspects to them, but I totally fell in love with her books when I gave Poison Study a try!

Chloe Neill's YA series was fun. Bummed that it's on some temporary hiatus or just over since they likely didn't sell as well. But there's always hope that it can be picked up again in the future! Nancy Holder & Debbie Viguie's Wicked series did that much to my appreciation and sanity!

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. Awesome that you met her :) Until you told me now, I hadn't realised that the Study books are adult, I thought that they're YA, too. If I knew that they're adult, I probably would've read them until now :) They're of course on my TBR as well, hopefully I'll get to them soon, so thanks for letting me know.

Yeah, it's fun, but I didn't realise that it might not be over, I thought it was only a trilogy. And yeah, don't you just hate it when the next book in the series you're hooked on is postponed some time in the future, which can be years.

      Thanks for stopping by!
