Summary:

I don't do DANGEROUS.

Smart, uber-careful, ordinary Samantha—that’s me. But I just couldn’t pass up a surprise kiss from my number-one unattainable crush. A kiss that did something to me...something strange. Now I feel hungry all the time, but not for food. It’s like part of me is missing—and I don’t know if I can get it back.

Then there’s Bishop. At first I thought he was just a street kid, but the secrets he’s keeping are as intense as his unearthly blue eyes. If he’s what I think he is, he may be the only one who can help me. But something terrifying is closing in, and the one chance Bishop and I have to stop it means losing everything I ever wanted and embracing the darkness inside me....

Nightwatchers: When angels and demons must work together, something beyond evil is rising...

My Thoughts on the Book:

In the end, I enjoyed a lot Dark Kiss. But, I had trouble getting into it. Usually, when I have that kind of problem, there's a reason: the pacing or the characters or the story or something similar, but here I couldn't put my finger what was it. Nothing bothered me, there wasn't a particular reason, I thought that the storyline was interesting, but I just couldn't connect with the characters or the story, so I kept reading, while thinking that Dark Kiss probably isn't a book for me, and yeah I read two thirds of the book before I finally got into it. But, when I did, it was so good. This had happened to me only once before with another quite popular book from another author. I guess I'm not really a fan of paranormal YA.
I thought that the story & the idea was really interesting. All the angels and demons were fun characters, and the ending was good. As I said, I didn't really connected to the characters, so I neither liked or disliked them, the same thing goes for the romance. Thankfully, there wasn't a love triangle, although I have a feeling that might change in the sequel. Of course, everything isn't over, there are a lot more things that should happen in the sequel(s).
So, will I read the sequel? To be honest, I don't know, maybe. Will I read something else from Michelle Rowen? Definitely. This actually wasn't my first book by Michelle Rowen that I've read, a couple of years ago I read one of her adult novels, and I remember that I loved it.
Overall, an interesting YA paranormal, so if you're a fan of paranormal YA books, then this is a book for you!
