At the moment I'm reading 2 books simultaneously: "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss & "Breakfast in Bed" by Robin Kaye, so I decided to share the first sentences of these both books & the book I'm planning to read after I finish them, and that's "Firespell" by Chloe Neill. I just got it yesterday & I can't wait to read it, but I'm too caught up in The Name of the Wind, so it'll have to wait for a few days, but I think that the opening sentence of it is really great. So here they are:
The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss:
Breakfast in Bed by Robin Kaye:
"Rebecca Larsen shouldered open the door of her new Park Slope apartment and surveyed the wreckage."
Firespell by Chloe Neill:
"They were gathered around a conference table in a high-rise, eight men and women, no one under the age of sixty-five, all of them wealthy beyond measure."
Both The Name of the Wind and Firespell look like books I'd enjoy. I agree with you about the first sentence of Firespell. I am going to have to add that one to my TBR list. Thanks for sharing!

Book Beginnings on Friday
I am half way through Pastworld and it is getting hard to put down. You have some great finds here. I will have to check some of them out too.
ReplyDeleteThey are interesting open sentences, both seem to ber half way through some action already before the book has even started
