Title: Hidden
Author: Sophie Jordan
Series: Firelight #3
My rating: 4.5 of 5
(Book read from my own copy from March 2nd to March 3rd, 2013)
Summary:
A dangerous journey.
Shattered bonds.
Undying passion.Jacinda was supposed to bond with Cassian, the "prince" of their pride. But she resisted her fate long before she fell in love with Will — a human and, worse, a hunter. When she ran away with Will, it ended in disaster, with Cassian's sister, Miram, captured. Weighed down by guilt, Jacinda knows she must rescue her to set things right. Yet to do so she will have to venture deep into the heart of enemy territory.
The only way Jacinda can reach Miram is by posing as a prisoner herself, though once she assumes that disguise, things quickly spiral out of her control. As she learns more about her captors, she realizes that even if Will and Cassian can carry out their part of the plan, there's no guarantee they'll all make it out alive. But what Jacinda never could have foreseen is that escaping would be only the beginning...
Loyalties are tested and sacrifices made in the explosive conclusion to Sophie Jordan's Firelight trilogy.
My Thoughts on the Book:
Hidden is the last book in the Firelight trilogy! To be honest, although overall I enjoyed the previous books, I didn't love them, and there were a lot of things I disliked & a lot of characters I disliked, especially in Vanish, although it was still a good sequel. But, Hidden actually managed to surprise me, it was great & overall I loved it & it's definitely the best book in the trilogy.
So, the story started as I expected, and I enjoyed it, but what surprised me the most was the way the author made me care about all the characters, even those I disliked previously, I just wanted them all to get a HEA, although I knew that wasn't possible of course. Also, another pleasant addition that I have to mention is Deghan, and I was really happy for Tamra :) And although at the beginning the pacing was a little slow, after that it really picked up, and this book was really action-packed, and I definitely didn't expect that, but I was glad it was executed that way, especially the last 3rd of the book, yeah, I couldn't stop reading it, it was that good.
And as the last book in the trilogy, Hidden wrapped up everything nicely, all the questions were answered, and mostly everyone got their HEA (in a way)...
Anything more would be full of spoilers, so I guess I'll stop here, but if you've enjoyed the previous books, you should definitely read this one, too, I don't think you'll be disappointed, and if you haven't tried the series, then I recommend it, especially if you're a fan of YA paranormal & you don't mind love triangles ;)
I was so frustrated with Vanish, I didn't feel it added very much and was pretty short. So I'm really happy that Hidden's the best of them all. Great review, Aleksandra.
ReplyDeleteThis one was pretty short, too, but at least it wasn't frustrating ^_^
