Fraterfest Read-a-Thon: Starting Post, Goals, Updates & Wrap Up!

Fraterfest Read-a-Thon is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer.

The read-a-thon starts on Friday October 5th at 12:01 am CST (my time zone that's 7 am) and ends at midnight on Monday October 8th CST (for me ends on Tuesday at 7 am).

You can read whatever you want as long as one book is either a Rhiannon Frater novel or a bump in the night book (vampire, zombie, shapeshifter, ghost etc).

For more info about the read-a-thon & to sign up, visit the post HERE.

For more info about all the mini challenges, and to link up your starting/goals/update post, visit this post HERE.

On Twitter use the hashtag #Fraterfest.

On Sunday October 7th from 6 pm to 8 pm EST there will be a twitter party (that's midnight to 2 am On Monday October 8th on my time zone).

My Reading List:

 My Goals:

To read at least 2 books, to read at least 500 pages, to participate in a few mini challenges & of course to party at the twitter party!

My Read-a-Thon Stats/Updates:

~ Previously Started Books Finished for the Read-a-Thon: 1
~ September Lights by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

~ Books Started for the Read-a-Thon: 2

~ Courtney Crumrin, Volume 2: The Coven of Mystics by Ted Naifeh
~ The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa

~ Books Read for the Read-a-Thon: 1
~ Courtney Crumrin, Volume 2: The Coven of Mystics by Ted Naifeh

~ Number of Pages Read for the Read-a-Thon: 444

Day 1 Update: I read the graphic novel Courtney Crumrin, Volume 2: The Coven of Mystics (129 pages). I also started The Immortal Rules, but read only 27 pages from it, and I read only 18 pages of the previously started September Lights. So, I read a total of 174 pages for day one.

Day 2 Update: I read only 7 pages from Zafon's September Lights, so a total fail today :(

Day 3 Update: I finished September Lights (170 pages read today) and I read 55 pages of The Immortal Rules, so a total of 225 pages today.

Day 4 Update: I read only 38 pages of The Immortal Rules

Wrap Up: I didn't read as much as I would've liked, but I did ok, finished one previously started book (September Lights by Carlos Ruiz Zafon) and one graphic novel Courtney Crumrin Volume 2: The Coven of Mystics by Ted Naifeh. I also started Julie Kagawa's The Immortal Rules, and although so far I've been loving it, I only managed to read 120 pages, so I blame it on the not enough free time for reading!
So, I read a total of 444 pages (this wasn't done on purpose) and I didn't manage to complete my goals :(
But, I had lots of fun with this read-a-thon, loved all the mini challenges, I participated in 6 of them and of course I loved the twitter party, so I'm already looking forward to the next read-a-thon!

One big THANK YOU to both Kimba for hosting this read-a-thon, and to all the challenge hosts, as well as the fellow read-a-thoners!

    1. Thanks, Bex!

And I just started The Immortal Rules, and I'm already hooked, so I really don't know why I kept postponing reading it...

  2. I didn't sign up for this one. I'm just not in the mood to keep track of two read-a-thons. It's been one of those weeks! Hope the reading is going well. Hope to see you at the Twitter chats tomorrow and/or Sunday!

I looked up Macedonia. I knew it sounded familiar to me. Now I know just where you're located. Wish I could visit! Would love to travel Europe. Quite a history there, with Philip of Macedon and Alexander the Great as your forefathers.

    1. This is actually the first time I'm participating in 2 read-a-thons at the same time :) Usually I only participate in the first one I've signed up for or the longer one, but this time I decided to try doing both. Mainly because this one lasts one day longer, so hopefully I'll read more ;) and because of the mini challenges, I'm hoping to participate in all of these :)

Thanks, now you know where I'm at :D And I'm from Europe, but still haven't travelled as much in it as I'd love to, So I would love to do that, too. I've been only in a few countries, but yeah, there's a lot to see, both here & all around Europe.

      Thanks for visiting me!

    1. Yeah, it has. I only started it, hadn't had time to read more of it, but I'm already hooked, so hopefully it would be really good, as everyone says it is :)

      Thanks for visiting!
