Ok, so making a list like this isn't easy! I definitely didn't include all of the books I recommend the most, I can easily list 10 more books/series I recommend again & again, so I might do a part 2 the next time there's a freebie or rewind theme ;)
So, My Top Ten Books I Recommend the Most are:
#1 - Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
Ready Player One is definitely my most fav book EVER! I've already read it 3 times since it was published, and I absolutely loved it every time, I just can't get enough of it, so I can't recommend it enough, you don't know what you are missing! Even if you're not a fan of sci-fi, I know you'll enjoy it. When it comes to this book, I love quoting Patrick Rothfuss: "This book pleased every geeky bone in my geeky body. I felt like it was written just for me!" - exactly!!! ^_^
#2 - Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Howl's Moving Castle is one of the most amazing fantasy books ever! Amazing story, amazing characters, amazing magical world, swoon-worthy hero & couple - everything! I've actually been itching for a re-read for a while now, hopefully I'll get to it soon :D I can't recommend it enough!
#3 - everything by Neil Gaiman
I know you're not surprised to see all of these :) Seriously, I had to include them all as one, I can't possibly choose, all of these are brilliant, amazing, fun, quirky & imaginative in a way that's quite rare, and that's why Neil Gaiman is my #1 fav author!
#4 - I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
This book is absolutely amazing, probably the best YA contemporary book I've read! This was my 2nd Markus Zusak's book I've read, and yeah, I knew it will be good (after all The Book Thief was brilliant), but once again I was blown away. I Am the Messenger is different then The Book Thief, yet equally brilliant, and Markus Zusak is one of the most brilliant authors out there. The moment I finished it, I wanted to start it again right away, and I barely resisted doing just that, but I'm planning to re-read it again soon :D
#5 - The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Yeah, you've all heard about this one, and you're probably thinking "I'll read it some day" - and that's what I was doing for a few years, and when I finally picked it up & read it in 2010, I was thinking "What the hell I've been waiting for until now?". The Book Thief is one of the best books I've read EVER! It's a must-read for everyone!!! So, if you still haven't read it, what are you waiting for?!?
#6 - The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern
Ok, if you've read it, you know why ;) A magical book that has one of the most magical places in fiction ever, I still wish the Night Circus was real, so I can visit it..
#7 - The Hallowed Ones by Laura Bickle
The Hallowed Ones is probably the only book published in 2012 that I've been recommending over & over again! It was creeptastic & it's definitely one of my all-time favs!
#8 - the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling
No explanation necessary - if you've read the books, you know why! The movies were great, and I loved them, but the books are something else, and one of my all-time favs, that I can read again & again, and never get enough of!!!
#9 - Unwind by Neal Shusterman
It's been so long since I've read Unwind, but I still remember it in details, and it's been 3 years. One of the best dystopians out there...
#10 - Seven Days for an Eternity by Marc Levy
And the last, but not least - Marc Levy's Seven Days for an Eternity. This book has been one of my favs long before I started blogging, I have no idea how many times I've read it, and I've loved it every time, and it's a really unique angel/demon romance book, that I can't get enough of!
What about you?
Leave me your TTT links!
Good list I love The Book Thief as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by :)
DeleteI agree with you about Neil Gaiman and Harry Potter. I really need to read Ready Player One and The Night Circus - and probably Howl's Moving Castle too. And people also keep talking about The Book Thief ...
ReplyDeleteYAY!!! And yeah, you must read all of those, so amazing :) I hope you'll enjoy them!
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
Yay another Neil Gaiman fan!! Have you read his graphic novels?
ReplyDeleteYAY :D I've read only a couple of the graphic novels: the Stardust graphic novel & the one with Mr.Punch - I still need to read the Sandman graphic novels.
DeleteThanks for stopping by!
When you have Neil Gaiman, Markus Zusak, AND the entire Harry Potter series on one list, you surely have yourself a monster list being created. I need to follow your recommendation of reading something by Neil Gaiman and I read "The Book Thief," but not "I Am The Messenger," which will hopefully change...
ReplyDeleteI know :D And I didn't include all that I wanted :D
DeleteAnd yeah, you must, I hope you'll enjoy Gaiman's books! And I Am the Messenger, too :)
Thanks for stopping by!
I though that I won't be surprised but I actually am. I mean Gaiman is #3 wow! That means that first two are amazing. I still haven't found anything by Neal Shusterman here so I'll probably have to read ebooks. The Hallowed Ones and HP are amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat list :)
Hahaha if I could've put all of them as #1, I would've :D I love all of these equally actually, I just numbered them so I'll stop at 10 :D
DeleteAnd yeah, his books aren't translated here as far as I know, I read them in English, his Skinjacker trilogy is amazing also :)
Thanks for stopping by!
I know the feeling :) I hope I will when I get more time.
DeleteAnd you have no idea how happy I'm to hear that you'll be reading The Shadow of the Wind! Can't wait to see your thoughts!
Excellent list! You definitely need to read Sandman; you're not getting the full Gaiman experience yet lol.
ReplyDeleteI'm reading The Night Circus right now and I can already tell it's going to be in my top 10 faves. It's so magical and wonderful, I just love it. :)
Hahahaha, well I already know he's brilliant, and after the episode he wrote for Doctor Who, I don't think he can surprise me anymore lol although I though that before I saw the episode, too ;) Hopefully, I'll get them soon, that's the problem why I still haven't read them...
DeleteI'm glad you're loving The Night Circus :)
Happy reading & thanks for stopping by!
Ok so from your list I only read Ready Player One and Harry Potter. But, as you said, I have all of them on my tbr... I hope I will have time to read the rest of them soon.

Yeah, I loved the movie, too :) I know that this won't really make sense - but the movie & the book are both really different, yet the same :) and I love both, although the book is definitely more lovely & more amazing :D I hope you'll find a copy of the book so you can see for yourself what I mean :)
DeleteThanks for stopping by :)
