What's Next? is a weekly meme hosted by IceyBooks.
Every Thursday, select 3-5 books (not
too many, not too little!) that you want to read but can't decide which
one to read first.
Post the cover, and if you want, the synopsis or even a random line from the book, for each of your selections.
At the end of your post, ask readers to vote on which one you should read next!
Even if you don't end up reading your readers' top choice, you'll know what the majority is excited for.

My picks this week are:
A Fool's Gold Christmas by Susan Mallery
The unrelenting cheer in Fool's Gold, California, is bringing out the
humbug in dancer Evie Stryker. She learned early on that Christmas
miracles don't happen, at least not for her. And this year seems like no
exception. An injury has forced her to return to the family fold, no
matter that they're estranged. She won't add to the awkward scenario by
being seduced by the bad-boy charms of her brother's best friend, the
last man she should ever want to date. Even when she's recruited to
stage Fool's Gold's winter festival, she vows to do as promised, then
move forward with her life anywhere but here.
Jaded lawyer Dante
Jefferson is getting used to the backwater town he now reluctantly
calls home, but the pounding of little dancers' feet above his temporary
office is more than any man should have to take! When he confronts
their gorgeous teacher, he's unprepared for the attraction that sears
him down to the soul. Evie is his best friend's sister-off-limits unless
he's willing to risk his heart. Dante has always believed that love is
the most dangerous force in the universe, but that was before he had to
reckon with the magic of a certain small town, where miracles do seem to happen....
When Lightning Strikes by Brenda Novak
Welcome to Whiskey Creek - Heart of the Gold Country!
Simon O'Neal's causing trouble again.
And it's up to Gail DeMarco to stop him.
Gail
DeMarco left Whiskey Creek, California, to make a name for herself in
Los Angeles. Her PR firm has accumulated a roster of A-list clients,
including the biggest box office hit of all- sexy and unpredictable
Simon O'Neal. But Simon, who's just been through a turbulent divorce, is
so busy self-destructing he won't listen to anything she says. She
drops him from her list-and he retaliates by taking the rest of her
clients with him.
Desperate to save her company, Gail has to
humble herself by making a deal with Simon. The one thing he wants is
custody of his son, but that's going to require a whole new image. He
needs to marry some squeaky-clean girl who'll drag him off to some
small, obscure place like Whiskey Creek....
Gail's the only one
he can trust. She agrees to become his wife-reluctantly. But she isn't
reluctant because he's too hard to like. It's because he's too hard not to love!
Lucky in Love by Jill Shalvis
Mallory Quinn has had enough of playing it safe. As a nurse and devoted
daughter, she takes care of everyone but herself. And as the local good
girl, she's expected to date Mr. Right. But for once, she'd like to take
a risk on Mr. Wrong. And who could be more wrong than Ty Garrison? The
mysterious new guy in town has made it clear that he's only passing
through, which suits Mallory just fine. Besides, his lean, hard body and
sexy smile will give her plenty to remember once he's gone . . .
For
the first time in his life, Ty can't bear to leave. Helping this sexy
seductress-in-training walk on the wild side is making him desire things
he shouldn't - including leaving the military for good. As their
just-for-fun fling becomes something more, Mallory and Ty wonder if they
could really be this lucky in love. After all . . . anything can happen
in a town called Lucky Harbor.
Barefoot in the Sand by Roxanne St. Claire
When all you hold dear is taken away . . .
When
a hurricane roars through Lacey Armstrong's home on the coast of
Barefoot Bay, she decides all that remains in the rubble is opportunity.
A new hotel is just what Mimosa Key needs, and Lacey and her teenage
daughter are due for a fresh start. And nothing, especially not a hot, younger architect, is going to distract Lacey from finally making her dreams a reality.
A second chance is the only thing you have left.
Love
has already cost Clay Walker everything. And if he's going to have any
chance of picking up the pieces of his life, he needs the job as Lacey
Armstrong's architect. What's not in the plans is falling for the
headstrong beauty. Her vision of the future is more appealing than
anything he could have ever drafted for himself. Will Clay's designs on
Lacey's heart be more than she can handle, or will she trust him to
build something that will last forever?
Close Enough to Touch by Victoria Dahl
Can a city girl make it in the wild, wild West?
For makeup
artist Grace Barrett, Hollywood is less the land of golden opportunity
and more the land of difficult divas, cheating boyfriends and
unemployment. So when her great-aunt offers her a free place to stay in
Jackson Hole, Grace thinks she'll spend a little time in the sticks to
figure out her life, and then move somewhere exciting to live out her
dreams. But it turns out that there are a few more thrills in this small
town than Grace was expecting....
Cole Rawlins is a rugged
Wyoming cowboy born and bred. Yet he can't help but be drawn to the
fascinating big-city girl who moves in across from him. As they discover
a sizzling attraction, it's Grace who finds herself surprised. Cole's
the only man who's ever dared to get close enough to see through her
tough facade. And his mysterious past only makes him sexier.
They'll
need more than scorching-hot passion to make this opposites-attract
affair work. But if they can learn to trust one another enough to reveal
their secrets, they just might have a chance at forever.
So, what do you think, which one of these contemporary romances I should read first?
